Sullia: A work-related altercation between a MESCOM employee and an assistant engineer at the Sullia MESCOM control room ended amicably after both parties reached a compromise during a police inquiry. The incident, which occurred on August 2, led to the registration of a non-cognizable report (NCR) at the Sullia Police Station.
The dispute reportedly arose over a work-related issue while the employee was on duty at the control room.
Dispute escalated at control room
According to the complaint, Raghava Shetty, a resident of Sullia, was on duty at the MESCOM control room when Supreeth, the Assistant Engineer (AE) at Sullia MESCOM, arrived at the office.
The complaint alleged that an argument broke out between the two over an official matter.
During the altercation, Supreeth allegedly snatched Shetty’s mobile phone and threw it on the ground, damaging the device.
Allegations of abuse and assault
The complainant further alleged that the assistant engineer abused him using foul language and physically assaulted him during the dispute.
Following the incident, Shetty approached the Sullia Police Station and lodged a complaint against the assistant engineer.
Based on the complaint, police registered a non-cognizable report (NC: 79/SUL/NCR/2026) and initiated an inquiry into the matter.
Matter resolved at police station
Police summoned both the complainant and the accused to the station for an inquiry.
During the proceedings, the two parties held discussions in the presence of the police and agreed to resolve the dispute amicably.
As the matter was settled through mutual consent, no further action was reported in the case.
The incident concluded with both parties reaching a compromise, bringing an end to the work-related dispute.
