To improve the SSLC pass percentage among students, Jamiyyatul Falah, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts, in collaboration with the School Education and Literacy Department and Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, organized a workshop titled Prerana – 2025 on Tuesday. Around 800 students from North and South Mangaluru zones participated in the event.
Jamiyyatul Falah president Shahul Hameed KK shared that the initiative began in 2012 after observing lower academic performance among minority students and those from scheduled castes and tribes. With an SSLC pass percentage between 40-50%, Dakshina Kannada had ranked 27th in the state. These workshops have since helped increase the pass rate of community students, especially boys, to 75%. Various taluks in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi conducted similar sessions this year.
The workshops offer a structured passing package to help students secure minimum qualifying marks. Additionally, Jamiyyatul Falah advises parents to minimize distractions for SSLC students one month before exams by avoiding religious events, sports, and other activities.
The sessions were led by renowned national trainer and award-winning mathematics teacher Yakub Nada, who provided expert guidance to students.
