Kittall youth Award conferred on Kiran Nirkan

Literature has the strength to bring in change in society. writers don’t have restrictions and limitations like politicians have. so they can write and talk without fear and favour. In this context we can rightly call the writers the torchbearers of change in society. opined Ivan D souza, MLC. He further added that criticism is needed to correct and upgrade ourselves. So we need to accept the criticism sportively.

Ivan D Souza was speaking after conferring Leo Rodrigues Family youth Award to youth writer Floyd Kiran Moras ( Pen name Kiran Moras ) at MCC Bank headquarters on Saturday, 5th October

Patron of the Award Leo Rodrigues conveyed his message through video conference and congratulated the awardee.

Guest of honor Anil Lobo Chairman of MCC Bank congratulated Kiran Moras and said Leo Rodrigues Family will be remembered in the history of konkani literature because he has been recognising and honoring the youth writers for the last 10 years. He further said all the
earlier awardees have made their mark in konkani literature and by recognising and honoring youth we can foster literature and language.

In his acceptance speech Kiran said the award has increased his responsibility and he will try his level best to spread the fragrance of konkani literature to UAE and other parts of the world where konkani speaking people settled.

H M Pernal, editor of kittall.com welcomed the guests and introduced them to the gathering. Associate Editor poet Wilson kateel introduced the awardee and read the citation. Titus Noronha, head of the jury proposed a vote of thanks and Wilson kinnigoli emceed the event.

Michael D Souza of Vision Konkani, Entrepreneur Rohan Monterio and community leaders Pius L Rodrigues, Ramesh Naik, Marcel Monterio and Naveen R D Souza and family members of Kiran Moras were present on the occasion.
