Mangaluru: The Yaksha Dhruva Patla Foundation, led by Patla Satish Shetty, has provided free accident insurance to thousands of artistes from Yakshagana, theatre, Daivaradhane, and Kambala over the past three years, in collaboration with the Mangaluru Postal Division.
Recently, insurance compensation of ₹10 lakh each was handed over to the families of Yakshagana artistes Anand and Praveeth, who lost their lives in accidents. The cheques were presented during a programme at the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices office in Balmatta, with Patla Satish Shetty as chief guest.
Shetty highlighted that the Foundation has been implementing several welfare initiatives for artistes, benefitting numerous families. He credited the success of these schemes to the dedicated efforts of the Foundation’s office-bearers and members, while also thanking the postal department for their efficient handling of policy issuance and claim settlements.
Presiding over the function, Sudhakar Mallya, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, lauded the Foundation and the Mangalore Press Club for their contributions in extending postal services to support public welfare.
