Mangaluru: The 7th Naturopathy Day was celebrated with vigour at Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital, under the aegis of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). Organised by the Department of Clinical Naturopathy, the event aimed to promote awareness about naturopathy and a natural, healthy lifestyle.
Highlights of the event
The programme began with an invocation by Mohammad Fasi, a 2nd-year BNYS student, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting performed by the Chief Guest, Dr. Pradeep Damodaran, Principal (In-Charge) of Markaz Naturopathy and Yoga Medical College, Kozhikode, Kerala.
Dr. Padmashree welcomed the gathering with an address that underlined the significance of Naturopathy Day and encouraged adopting natural health practices.
Activities and competitions
Dr. Abhijna, Programme Co-ordinator, presented a detailed report on the activities conducted to mark the occasion, which included:
- Naturopathy Health Awareness Camps in and around Mangaluru
- Competitions such as reel-making, innovative herbal medicine design, debates, mime performances, and skits
Winners of these competitions were announced by Dr. Rafida, Programme Co-ordinator, celebrating the creative and academic talents of the participants.

Guest speech
In his inspiring address, Chief Guest Dr. Pradeep Damodaran highlighted the growing importance of naturopathy in modern healthcare. He encouraged students to explore future career opportunities in the field and emphasised the practical application of their knowledge to contribute meaningfully to society.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vajrakshi, Programme Co-ordinator, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members, participants, and students for their enthusiastic support and participation.
