Mangaluru: Yenepoya Nursing College celebrated its 20th Graduation Day at the Yendurance Zone, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Deralakatte. The milestone event marked the graduation of 177 diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate students, with medals presented to high achievers in recognition of academic excellence.
Ceremony begins with prayers and warm acknowledgements
The event opened on a spiritual note with Ms Munaveera, BSc Nursing student, reciting verses from the Holy Quran. Vice Principal Dr Priya Reshma Aranha welcomed the gathering, setting the tone for a dignified and celebratory ceremony.

Chief Guest stresses the qualities of a 21st-century nurse
Dr Neerja Sood, Director, School of Health Sciences, IGNOU, New Delhi, served as Chief Guest.
In her address, she highlighted the need for graduates to evolve as “21st-century nurses”, equipped with:

- Professional employability competencies
She emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and encouraged graduates to embrace every opportunity for growth.
Guest of Honour inspires students with message of values and vision
Guest of Honour Dr B. H. Sripathi Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, urged students to pursue success through clarity of vision, dedication, ethical practice and disciplined time management. His message encouraged graduates to approach their careers with responsibility, humility and purpose.
Dean confers degrees and honours outstanding achievers
Presided over by Dean Dr Leena K. C., the ceremony witnessed the conferring of degrees upon all graduating students. Academic toppers received medals, celebrating their consistent performance and commitment to excellence.

The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Binsha Pappachan, Head of Mental Health Nursing, who acknowledged the collective efforts of faculty, organisers, students and families in making the occasion meaningful.
