The situation unfolded when the accused, concurrently filing for divorce, began coercing his wife with the threat of circulating intimate content on social media. Distressed by the situation, the victim reported the incident to the District Cyber Crime Police station. During the investigation, the police discovered private videos and photos of the victim stored on the accused’s mobile device.
In a desperate attempt to evade arrest, the accused husband tried to escape from the police station and even resorted to consuming poison in a suicide bid. Prompt action by the police led to his admission to a hospital, and after being discharged on Wednesday night, he was subsequently sent to Hindalaga prison. The case underscores the disturbing trend of using explicit content as a means of coercion and highlights the importance of addressing such issues through legal channels.
