Bengaluru: Jagadish Shetty, the elected representative for the Boloor ward in the city, was discovered in a critical state following an apparent suicide attempt involving the ingestion of poison. Currently, he is under intensive medical care in a private hospital within the city.
The distressing incident unfolded when Jagadish Shetty consumed poison while seated in a car near the Statebank bus stand on Thursday. Alert locals who observed his condition acted swiftly, admitting him to the hospital for immediate medical attention. The precise reasons leading to this poisoning episode remain unclear at present.
Upon being informed of the situation, MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, Mayor Sudhir Shetty of Kannur, and other officials promptly visited the hospital to assess the situation and offer support.
