Tragic Suicide in Karnataka: Man Alleges Harassment by Official

Mysuru: A tragic incident unfolded in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district on Monday as a 42-year-old computer operator, employed in the revenue office for the past 15 years, took his own life. The deceased, who was physically disabled, left behind a poignant note accusing Hullahalli deputy tahsildar Sivakumar of subjecting him to harassment.

In response to this distressing event, Mysuru division regional commissioner GC Prakash has taken swift action, ordering the suspension of Deputy Tehsildar Sivakumar. The grieving father of the deceased complained to the Hullahalli police, leading to the registration of a case against the deputy tahsildar under IPC section 306, pertaining to abetment to suicide.

According to Hullahalli police inspector Girish, the computer operator consumed poison on Sunday evening and succumbed to its effects on Monday. The suspension of Deputy Tehsildar Sivakumar reflects a decisive move by authorities in response to the serious allegations of harassment levied by the deceased. The incident underscores the importance of addressing workplace issues and ensuring the well-being of all employees.
