Chikkamagaluru: Boy, 7, Fatally Shot in Heart While Playing with Airgun

Chikkamagaluru: A seven-year-old boy died after accidentally pressing the trigger of an air gun while playing in front of his house in Mallenahalli, Chikkamagaluru taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Vishnu. According to sources, the boy was playing with the air gun, which was kept in the house to drive away monkeys from the coffee plantation. He accidentally pressed the trigger, and the bullet pierced his heart, causing his immediate death.

The boy’s body was shifted to the government hospital, where doctors will perform an autopsy before handing it over to his parents. Chikkamagaluru Rural police have registered a case, and the investigation is ongoing.

Human Skeleton Found

Udupi: A human skeleton was found near Adishakti temple in Moodusagri. The victim is believed to have died around a month ago, and authorities are in the process of identifying the deceased. The skeleton was shifted to KMC Hospital in Manipal. The incident came to light when the landowner, who resides in Mumbai, visited the village. DySP TD Prabhu, Inspector DV Devaraj, PSI Raghavendra, and others visited the spot.
