Aamir Khan Not Backing Any Party: Actor’s Spokesperson

Mumbai: Following a 27-second video allegedly featuring Bollywood star Aamir Khan urging viewers to vote for a particular party has gone viral, his spokesperson issued a statement on Tuesday claiming it to be a fake video.

The spokesperson stated that Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year film career. Describing the viral video as “fake” and alarming, the spokesperson added that the actor had reported the matter to the local police and filed an FIR with the cybercrime team of the Mumbai Police.

In the purported 27-second clip, seemingly edited using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Khan can be seen discussing the importance of avoiding rhetoric. The actor has consistently raised awareness for electoral participation through ECI campaigns, and throughout his 35-year career, has refrained from endorsing any political parties, his spokesperson said and added that Aamir Khan wants to clarify that this is a fake video and completely untrue.
