Netflix Secures Pushpa 2 Digital Rights for Record-Breaking Sum: Reports

According to a report by Pinkvilla, Allu Arjun starrer, Pushpa 2: The Rule has created a new record with digital rights sale. The entertainment magazine reported on the bases of sources close to the production have revealed that the digital rights for Pushpa 2: The Rule have been acquired by Netflix for ground breaking base price of Rs 250 crore, with a potential extension to Rs 300 crore.

This deal broke previous records in the industry by approximately Rs 100 crore, marking it as a milestone moment for the film. Pushpa 2 is the much anticipated movie, movie buffs are eagerly waiting for it’s release. As the expectations are high from the movie and it’s set to generate great revenue across the platforms for the film’s content.

Moreover, the contract is structured to be dynamic, with provisions tied to box office performance. This modern approach entails setting a base price and subsequently adjusting it based on the film’s commercial success. For Pushpa 2, the base price stands at Rs 250 crore, with potential increments up to Rs 300 crore, demonstrating the confidence in the film’s prospects.

Previously, the digital rights sale record was held by SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which fetched Rs 170 crore.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 is scheduled for release on August 15, 2024. The makers have already teased fans with a glimpse of Allu Arjun as Pushpa.
