Rathore shared that the victim is currently admitted to the ICU and is gradually regaining consciousness.
This incident adds to the concerning trend of crimes against women, as highlighted by the recent data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). According to the NCRB report for 2022, there has been a significant increase in crimes against women, with 4,45,256 cases registered, indicating a four percent rise from the previous year. The data reveals that 250 women became victims of murder-cum-rape or gang rape across the nation in 2022.
Alarming Statistics: Rajasthan Tops in Recorded Rapes
The NCRB report specifically points out that Rajasthan recorded the highest number of rapes, reaching a staggering figure of 5,399. This disturbing statistic underscores the urgent need for concerted efforts to address and combat the rising incidents of sexual crimes, particularly those affecting minors. The society at large, along with law enforcement agencies, must work collaboratively to create a safer environment for women and children, ensuring justice and protection for the vulnerable.
