Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident unfolded in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, as a woman suffered critical injuries when a sub-inspector accidentally shot her in the head at a local police station. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and circulated on social media, drawing widespread attention to the unfortunate accident.

In the video, the woman, accompanied by a man, can be seen at the police station for passport verification at the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) office of Aligarh Kotwali Nagar. A police officer handed a pistol to sub-inspector Manoj Sharma for loading. Suddenly, a bullet was fired, striking the woman in the head. She was promptly rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College for urgent medical attention.
Law enforcement officials, including the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and other officers, visited the medical center to inquire about the victim’s condition and oversee ongoing treatment. Following the accidental shooting, sub-inspector Sharma reportedly fled the scene. Kalanidhi Naithani, SSP, Aligarh, stated that necessary legal measures, including the immediate suspension of the accused inspector, are being pursued. The motive behind the accidental firing remains unknown, with the top priority being the victim’s medical care.
