Kanpur was gripped by shock as a gruesome incident came to light, revealing that a woman, in collusion with her boyfriend, allegedly strangled her second husband. The accused, in an attempt to disguise the murder as suicide, strategically placed a bottle of ‘Sulfas’ tablets near the deceased’s body. Both suspects are now in police custody, and the chilling details of the crime have been disclosed.

The horrifying incident unfolded in Govind Nagar, Kanpur, where the lifeless body of Mukesh Narang was discovered in his residence on November 24. Alongside the body, a bottle of poisonous substance was found, indicating a possible suicide. Mukesh’s wife, Divya, claimed that he had mentioned friends were visiting, instructing her to go to her sister-in-law’s house. Upon her return, she allegedly found her husband dead in the room.

As the investigation progressed, police suspicions were heightened, leading to detailed interrogations and an examination of CCTV footage. The footage unveiled an individual, identified as Sanjay Pal, entering Mukesh’s house on the day of the incident. Further scrutiny of Divya’s mobile records revealed prolonged contact with Sanjay, exposing their acquaintance as residents of the same area and former schoolmates.

The shocking revelations came to light during the intense interrogations of Divya and Sanjay. Both confessed that on the day of the incident, Divya had spiked Mukesh’s tea with sleeping pills. Taking advantage of his drowsiness, they allegedly strangled him to death. In an attempt to cover up their heinous act, Divya strategically placed a bottle of poisonous substance near his lifeless body.

Additional details indicate that Divya had a prior marriage with a young man from Prayagraj in 2020, which ended in divorce after just one and a half months. Subsequently, she married Mukesh in 2022, marking her second marriage. The police investigation continues as they gather evidence and build a case against the accused for this shocking crime that has rattled the community in Kanpur.
