Mangaluru: In view of the upcoming inauguration of a 108-feet-tall bronze statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda in Bengaluru, the sacred soil collection campaign was launched at Mangaluru City Corporation near Brahmasree Narayana Guru Circle in the City on Wednesday October 26. Energy, Kannada and Culture Minister and District in-charge V. Sunil Kumar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs B. Vedavyas Kamath, Dr. Bharat Shetty, Sanjeev Matandoor, MLC Pratap Simha Nayak, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, MCC Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V., Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kumar, Adi Chunchanagiri Shakha Matha Seer Dharmapalana Swamiji and other dignitaries were present at the inaugural programme. Also, the dignitaries initiated the movement of Kempegowda Chariot on the occasion.
