Mysuru: Nanjangud bandh held on Saturday, March 20, against the order of the District Commissioner not to hold a Car festival. Last year, due to Corona the Shri Gautama car festival (Panchamaharathotsava) was not held in Nanjangud.

Due to the escalating corona case, District Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri has restricted the car festival. This caused much outrage among devotees.

Devotees and local leaders appealed to the Minister in charge of the district, ST Somashekhar and District Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, to allow the Shri Gautama Car festival in Nanjangud, as there were several fairs indisputably have been held in the district.

As no response was given in this regard by DC the Nanjangud Bandh was followed.
