Mysuru: The Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority has clarified that the ₹50 special entry ticket system at the Sri Chamundeshwari Devi Temple atop Chamundi Hill has been restored after a temporary suspension caused by technical issues.

The clarification comes amid concerns among devotees and reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged cancellation of lower-priced special entry tickets at the temple.

Authority issues clarification

In an official press release, the Authority stated that the ₹50 special entry queue had only been suspended temporarily due to technical reasons and had not been permanently discontinued as claimed in some social media posts.

According to the statement, all technical issues have now been resolved and the special entry facility has resumed to ensure a smooth darshan experience for devotees visiting the temple.

The Authority urged devotees not to believe rumours circulating on social media regarding the permanent cancellation of the ticket system.

Social media rumours caused confusion

Temple authorities noted that certain social media platforms had filmed the temporary disruption and allegedly spread misleading information, creating confusion among devotees and the general public.

The Authority said the reports led many devotees to believe that the ₹50 ticket category had been permanently withdrawn, prompting the need for an official clarification.

Officials reiterated that the special entry facility remains available and that devotees can continue to utilise the service for quicker access to darshan.

Activist welcomes decision

Activist K Vivek Gowda, who had earlier drawn attention to the issue before the commencement of the Ashada month, welcomed the restoration of the ₹50 ticket system.

He pointed out that for nearly a year, only ₹500 and ₹1,000 special entry tickets had reportedly been available, causing inconvenience to many devotees, particularly those seeking an affordable option for darshan.

While appreciating the reintroduction of the ₹50 ticket, Vivek Gowda also urged temple authorities to restore the ₹250 special entry ticket category to provide devotees with additional options.

Relief for devotees ahead of Ashada

The restoration of the ₹50 special entry ticket comes at a crucial time, as the temple is expected to witness a significant increase in footfall during the Ashada month, one of the most important periods in the temple calendar.

Thousands of devotees from Karnataka and neighbouring states visit the Chamundeshwari Temple during the festive season to seek the blessings of the presiding deity.

Authorities believe that the availability of the ₹50 special entry facility will help improve crowd management and make darshan more accessible to a larger number of devotees.

Conclusion

The Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority has clarified that the ₹50 special entry ticket facility at the Chamundeshwari Temple has been restored following the resolution of technical issues. With the Ashada season approaching, the move is expected to provide relief to devotees and improve access to darshan at one of Karnataka’s most revered temples.
