Mysuru: A reckless autorickshaw stunt in Hunsur’s Bilikere police limits led to the booking of an auto driver and his friend for dangerous driving in a public area. The duo was taken into custody two days after a video of their stunt went viral on social media.
According to the police, the incident surfaced when the social media monitoring unit detected the video online. The accused, identified as Nagaraj (driver) and Harisha (his friend), were caught on camera performing stunts on Gommatagiri Road near Manuganahalli village. They were seen balancing the auto on two wheels, while one of them performed tricks using only one hand for support.
Authorities stated that the footage was recorded earlier but uploaded recently. As soon as the video was flagged, police acted swiftly, arresting both individuals for violating road safety norms.
District police officials have issued a strict warning against engaging in such dangerous activities, emphasizing that performing stunts on public roads not only puts the perpetrators at risk but also endangers other commuters. They reiterated that legal action will be taken against those violating traffic laws by indulging in such reckless behavior.
