R.N. Bindumani has formally taken over the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Mysuru City, marking a significant change in the police leadership.
The state government recently issued a transfer order reassigning Muthuraj Ravar, who previously held the post. Following the directive, Muthuraj officially relinquished his duties and handed over responsibilities to Bindumani on the same day.
Before assuming this new assignment, Bindumani was serving as the Superintendent of Police within Bengaluru’s Internal Security Division, where he oversaw critical security operations and strategic planning.
To welcome the incoming DCP, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar presented a bouquet as a gesture of goodwill and conveyed her best wishes for his tenure.
Colleagues and senior officials from the department were also present during the formal transition, extending their support and congratulating Bindumani on his new responsibilities.
Speaking briefly after taking charge, Bindumani expressed his commitment to maintaining peace and enhancing public safety across Mysuru. He emphasised that strengthening community policing and improving responsiveness to citizens’ concerns would be among his key priorities.
Outgoing DCP Muthuraj Ravar thanked his team for their cooperation during his tenure and wished Bindumani success in his role.
The change in leadership comes amid renewed efforts to reinforce law enforcement effectiveness and address the city’s evolving security needs.
With Bindumani at the helm, the Mysuru City Police are expected to focus on proactive measures to uphold law and order and foster stronger public trust.
