The 2025 SSLC results have brought remarkable stories of grit and achievement from Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS) schools, with students from marginalized communities topping state ranks.
Pruthvisha Govinda Gollarahalli, from MDRS Makanur (Haveri), secured a perfect 625/625, earning Karnataka’s first rank. Son of a bike showroom watchman and a midday meal cook, Pruthvisha studied 12 hours a day and dreams of becoming an IAS officer. “This was beyond our dreams,” said his proud father.
Savitri Roni, from MDRS Halabhavi (Belagavi), scored 624/625. Daughter of a college attendant and a homemaker, Savitri credited her success to digital literacy, focused study routines, and teacher support.
Bhoomika Suresh Okkaliga, from Kittur Rani Channamma Residential Sainik School (Uttara Kannada), also scored 624/625. Raised by daily-wage labourers, she aims to pursue science, driven by her belief in education as a tool for empowerment.
Out of 34,984 KREIS students across 788 schools, the pass percentage hit 91%, with 34% earning distinctions and 56% scoring first class. A total of 247 students shared top 10 ranks statewide, and over 19% scored above 90%.
KREIS attributes this success to micro- and macro-level planning, including syllabus tracking, remedial support, academic workshops, and mobile-free campuses.
At the PUC level, 132 students cleared JEE Mains, 3 cleared JEE Advanced, 517 cleared NEET UG, and 4,213 secured K-CET rankings, with 2,688 likely to gain engineering seats under government quota.
