Chinnamballi Raju, a resident of Nanjangud taluk, officially filed his nomination for the post of Director in the Mysore and Chamarajanagar District Cooperative Central (MDCC) Bank Board at the Mysuru District Collector’s office, ahead of the upcoming election scheduled for June 26.
Speaking at the event, District Rural Congress President B.J. Vijayakumar and former MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy confirmed that Raju is the Congress-supported candidate from the Nanjangud Assembly constituency, nominated with the approval of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the endorsement of all 20 cooperative bank societies in the constituency.
They appealed to voters to support Raju’s candidature, stating that he represents the collective aspirations of the cooperative sector and has the unanimous backing of the region’s Congress leadership.
Several prominent local figures were present in solidarity, including former State Valmiki Development Corporation President S.C. Basavaraj, Block Congress President Kuratti Mahesh, former Mayor Pushpa Latha Chikkanna, and Guarantee Project Committee President K. Maruti.
Also attending were Edatale Nagaraj, Siddaramaiah Gowda, Param Shivamurthy, Rohini Puttaraj, Bidugali Purushottam, Tirugunda Shivana, and several other Congress leaders from Nanjangud taluk, including Prakash, Garden Mahesh, Basavaraju, Manju, Puttanna, Balu, Dev Nayak, and Arkesh.
The strong show of support underscores the party’s focus on consolidating its influence in cooperative institutions and boosting grassroots engagement ahead of the MDCC elections.
