Mysuru: The Chamarajanagar Urban Development Authority (CUDA) has extended its jurisdiction to include several neighboring gram panchayats, such as Chandakavadi, Haradanahalli, Madapura, Shivapura, and Kudluru. This move aligns with the rapid urbanization spurred by the Kellamballi-Badanaguppe industrial area, which borders Mysuru district.

As residential layouts multiply on the city’s outskirts, CUDA aims for planned development to manage the surge in housing demand and real estate expansion. Though the authority has permitted private developers and cooperative housing societies to build residential layouts, it has not yet developed its own—leading to long delays for applicants awaiting plots.

Now, CUDA has created a new layout near Jalahallihundi on 14 acres under a 50:50 model, where half the plots will be distributed to applicants. Thousands who applied years ago will soon receive their long-awaited sites.

The expansion covers areas like Kodimole, Budithittu, Doddarayapete, and Mudalapalya (Kudlur GP), Handarakalli, Masagapura, Kiragasur, and Kadahalli (Madapura GP), along with villages along the Gundlupet road, Shivapura, and Bhogapura.

CUDA president Mohammed Asghar emphasized that all future residential projects in these areas must obtain approval from the authority to ensure systematic urban growth.

Chamarajanagar Small Scale Industries Association (CHASIA) president Jayasimha welcomed the decision, stating that it boosts the real estate market and aligns with state government development initiatives. With prices already soaring between ₹30-60 lakh per acre, the city’s outskirts are poised for rapid transformation.
