Mysore/Mysuru: Three individuals narrowly escaped serious injury when the car they were traveling in crashed into a road divider late last night. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Bogadi-Gaddige Main Road near Harsha Bar in Bogadi 2nd Stage. The front portion of the Hyundai car (KA-01-MB-1284) was completely damaged as a result of the impact.
Local residents informed Star of Mysore that the road divider has been constructed in an unscientific manner, particularly close to a curve, making it difficult for motorists, especially drivers of cars and heavy vehicles, to navigate safely. This poor design has reportedly resulted in at least one accident per week.
Residents expressed frustration, alleging that while Traffic Police arrive at the scene whenever an accident occurs and conduct a spot mahazar, no steps have been taken to either remove or correct the hazardous road divider. The community is calling for immediate action to address the safety concerns posed by the divider to prevent further accidents.
The incident underscores the urgent need for a review of road safety measures and proper construction practices on Bogadi-Gaddige Main Road. Local authorities and traffic police are urged to take immediate corrective actions to ensure the safety of all road users.
