In Mysore, MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah took a firm stand against the growing illegal sale of liquor in village stalls, especially in the Nanjangud area. Addressing local concerns, he lashed out at retailers and rebuked officials for failing to control the menace.

The crackdown comes in response to two tragic deaths in the last two months caused by consumption of illicit liquor. During his visit, villagers voiced their distress and submitted a petition highlighting various issues, including lack of drinking water, illegalities, and administrative irregularities.

Dr. Yathindra warned officials present on-site, stating that strict action will be taken if the illegal liquor trade isn’t halted immediately. He stressed the importance of timely redressal of public grievances, cautioning that officials would face consequences for negligence.
