Mysuru: The digitisation of enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has reached 75.85 per cent in Mysuru district, with 21,23,449 forms digitised as of 6 pm on July 29, according to the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer.

The district administration has completed the distribution of enumeration forms to all eligible electors and is continuing the house-to-house verification and digitisation exercise, which is scheduled to conclude on August 8.

Enumeration forms distributed to all electors

Officials said 100 per cent distribution of enumeration forms has been achieved across the district.

A total of 27,99,693 electors spread across 2,915 polling stations have received the forms as part of the revision exercise.

The Special Intensive Revision, being carried out from June 30 to August 8, aims to update the electoral rolls by verifying voter details and ensuring the accuracy of the voter database ahead of future elections.

Over 4.31 lakh forms found uncollectable

During the verification process, election officials identified 4,31,077 enumeration forms as uncollectable, accounting for 15.40 per cent of the total.

The uncollectable forms were categorised as follows:

  • 97,682 electors were found absent.
  • 1,05,416 electors had permanently shifted from their registered addresses.
  • 1,05,416 electors were reported deceased.
  • 34,750 electors had already enrolled elsewhere.
  • 3,189 cases were classified under other reasons.

Officials said these cases are being documented as part of the ongoing verification process to maintain accurate electoral rolls.

Chamundeshwari leads digitisation

Among the Assembly constituencies in Mysuru district, Chamundeshwari recorded the highest number of digitised enumeration forms with 2,53,553 forms uploaded.

It was followed by:

  • Hunsur – 2,16,991 forms
  • Varuna – 2,04,217 forms
  • Narasimharaja – 2,03,693 forms

Other Assembly segments also reported steady progress as officials continue the digitisation process across the district.

Exercise to continue until August 8

The district administration said election officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are continuing house-to-house visits to complete the remaining verification and digitisation work within the stipulated deadline.

The Special Intensive Revision is intended to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls by identifying changes in voters’ residential status, removing duplicate or ineligible entries and ensuring that eligible citizens are correctly enrolled.

Authorities have urged electors to cooperate with Booth Level Officers during the verification process to facilitate the timely completion of the revision exercise.
