Mysuru: The Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage has organised a day-long special lecture on the history of Tulu Nadu, with a special focus on Bhatkal, in Mysuru on Thursday, July 30. The programme aims to promote awareness of the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage among students, researchers and the public.
According to a press release issued by Deputy Director C. N. Manjula, the lecture will begin at 11 am at the auditorium of the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage office, located on the Karnataka Exhibition Authority premises in Mysuru.
Expert to deliver presentation
The special lecture will be delivered by Pooja Nayak, a resource person from the Government First Grade College, Chitradurga.
She will present an in-depth session on the history of Tulu Nadu, highlighting the historical significance of Bhatkal and its role in the region’s cultural and maritime heritage.
The presentation is expected to provide participants with valuable insights into the historical evolution of the coastal region and its contributions to Karnataka’s history.
Open to students and public
The Department has announced that the lecture is free of charge and open to students, history enthusiasts, researchers and members of the general public.
Officials said the event is part of the department’s efforts to encourage greater interest in Karnataka’s archaeological and historical heritage through public lectures and educational programmes.
