Mysuru: A woman working as a Tata promoter allegedly died by suicide after consuming pesticide, with a death note reportedly accusing her supervisor of prolonged workplace harassment.
The incident was reported from Hinkal within the limits of Vijayanagar police station in Mysuru. The deceased has been identified as Nageshwari, who was employed as a Tata promoter.
According to the allegations contained in the death note, Nageshwari had been facing difficulties at her workplace for the past four months after a woman identified as Dolly was appointed as a supervisor.
Death note alleges harassment
In the death note, Nageshwari reportedly alleged that she was repeatedly targeted and harassed by the supervisor over a mistake that she claimed was not hers.
She also alleged that she was not given even a week’s leave during the previous four months and was denied emergency leave when she needed it.
According to the note, Nageshwari questioned the supervisor about the treatment she was receiving at work. She alleged that she was subsequently removed from her job.
She further claimed that she was not provided a notice period before being removed from employment.
Woman sought justice in death note
Nageshwari reportedly stated in her death note that she was taking the extreme step because of the alleged harassment by “Dolly Madam”.
She also appealed for justice following her death.
