Mysuru: A seminar and interaction programme on ‘Income Tax and Tax Compliance for the Real Estate Sector’ will be held in the city on June 8 to create awareness about the provisions and compliance requirements under the New Income Tax Act, 2025.
The seminar is scheduled to begin at 5 pm on Monday at the Mysore Builders’ Charitable Trust (MBCT) Auditorium located on Akkamahadevi Road in Vishweshwara Nagara, Industrial Suburb, Mysuru.
The event is being organised jointly by the Mysuru Centre of the Builders Association of India (BAI) and the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), in association with the Union Income Tax Department.
Senior income tax officials to lead session
According to a press release issued by CREDAI Mysuru secretary Nagaraj V Bairy, the seminar will be conducted by Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Kalpalata Rajan and Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax S Venkatesan.
The officials are expected to explain the provisions of the New Income Tax Act, 2025 and address practical concerns related to taxation and compliance in the real estate sector.
Organisers said the interaction session has been planned to help industry stakeholders understand important assessment-related provisions and the latest compliance requirements introduced under the updated tax framework.
Focus on compliance and practical implications
The seminar aims to provide participants with detailed insights into taxation procedures, legal obligations and practical implications affecting developers, builders and allied professionals.
According to organisers, the real estate sector often faces complex taxation and compliance challenges due to changing financial regulations, project structures and evolving government policies.
The session is expected to help participants better understand documentation requirements, assessment procedures and compliance standards applicable to construction and real estate businesses.
Industry representatives said such awareness programmes are essential to ensure smoother implementation of the new tax framework while minimising legal and procedural complications for stakeholders.
Professionals from multiple sectors invited
Chairman of BAI Mysuru Prabhakar Rao stated that members of BAI, CREDAI and NAREDCO, along with auditors, chartered accountants, civil engineers, contractors, architects, valuers and advocates, are eligible to participate in the seminar.
The organisers expect the programme to attract a large number of professionals associated with the construction, infrastructure and real estate industries from Mysuru and nearby districts.
The MBCT Hall, where the event is being conducted, is jointly managed by the Mysore Builders’ Charitable Trust and the Builders Association of India.
Industry leaders to participate
CREDAI Mysuru president Harish Shenoy and BAI Mysuru secretary Praveen Pai will also be present during the programme.
Organisers said the seminar would provide an important platform for direct interaction between tax officials and industry stakeholders, enabling participants to seek clarifications regarding implementation of the new tax rules.
They expressed hope that the session would help improve awareness and encourage better compliance practices within the real estate and construction sectors.
With increasing emphasis being placed on financial transparency and regulatory compliance, experts believe such interactions will become increasingly important for businesses adapting to updated taxation policies.
