Bengaluru: A serious car crash occurred on the Mysuru Expressway amid heavy rainfall, resulting in injuries to two young children on Sunday evening. The collision was exacerbated by poor visibility and waterlogged road conditions.

According to an eyewitness, the incident unfolded shortly after the rain subsided. The driver was traveling from Kushalnagar to Bengaluru when a car from the opposite direction lost control while passing a truck. The car reportedly flipped in mid-air, landing approximately 10 feet away before crashing into a TATA Nexon, which had two children sitting in the front.

The eyewitness recounted, “I literally froze for a second… the car flipped and landed on the leftmost lane, where it rolled over and crashed into the TATA Nexon.” The children in the Nexon, who were sitting on the driver’s and passenger’s laps, sustained injuries due to the deployment of airbags and were reported to be bleeding. Videos shared online showed the children in distress following the crash.

The eyewitness speculated that the driver of the car may have hit a puddle at high speed, causing a loss of control. The ongoing rain, combined with waterlogging, was highlighted as a major factor contributing to the accident.

Authorities have been alerted, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway.
