Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of Karnataka found himself in a relaxed and unconventional setting on Tuesday evening amidst calls for his resignation. After attending the funeral of MLA Narendraswamy’s father, he left his official car at home and was driven around Mysore by former MLA H.P. Manjunath.
The Chief Minister ventured into public spaces, enjoying coffee near the city court. This move caught many by surprise as Siddaramaiah interacted with citizens without bodyguards, even posing for selfies with women and children who were delighted to see him participating in everyday activities.
In another display of accessibility, Siddaramaiah visited the protest site of the Mysore University Guest Lecturers Association at Krard Hall, where protestors are staging an Ahoratri demonstration. He engaged with the lecturers and spoke to Chancellor NK Loknath over the phone regarding their concerns.
Furthermore, amid heightened political tension and continued pressure from opposition parties calling for his resignation through Padayatra protests across Mysore, Siddaramaiah held an evening meeting with local leaders at his residence regarding Janandola’s convention.
These actions may reflect a deliberate effort by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to connect directly with citizens amidst political turmoil in the state. His informal public outings signify an attempt to engage more closely with people while navigating challenging circumstances within Karnataka’s political landscape.
