Mysuru: The housewarming ceremony of former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his newly constructed residence in Kuvempu Nagar, Mysuru, will be held on Monday.
According to his close aides, various rituals associated with the ceremony began on Sunday night, with Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi Siddaramaiah taking part in the proceedings.
Ceremony kept private
The housewarming has reportedly been planned as a low-key family affair, with only close family members and a handful of aides invited.
“It has been kept as a very low-key affair. Except for family members and a handful of aides, no one has been invited,” sources said.
The former Chief Minister’s visit to Mysuru has also reportedly been kept private, with no prior public intimation about his arrival.
The decision to keep the ceremony low-profile means that the event is unlikely to witness the usual gathering of political leaders, supporters and well-wishers associated with Siddaramaiah’s public appearances.
Rituals began on Sunday
The initial rituals for the housewarming ceremony began on Sunday night.
Siddaramaiah and Parvathi participated in the rituals at the newly built residence ahead of the main housewarming ceremony scheduled for Monday.
The Kuvempu Nagar residence is expected to serve as Siddaramaiah’s home in Mysuru, where he has maintained a strong personal and political association over the years.
The former Chief Minister, who hails from the Mysuru region, has frequently visited the city for political, administrative and personal engagements.
The housewarming ceremony, however, has been deliberately kept away from public attention, with the family choosing to restrict participation to a small circle.
No formal political gathering planned
Sources said no major political gathering has been planned in connection with the ceremony.
Unlike occasions involving prominent political figures, the event is expected to remain largely confined to family members and close associates.
The former Chief Minister’s aides have also indicated that details of his visit were not shared in advance, allowing the family to conduct the rituals without the usual public attention.
The main housewarming ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday following the rituals that commenced on Sunday night.
