Mysore: In a press conference, Legislative Council member H. Vishwanath questioned the alleged preferential treatment given to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife in the allotment of a plot by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
Vishwanath claimed that while he was also allotted a plot by MUDA, Siddaramaiah’s wife was given a plot in the Vijayanagar area instead. He contrasted this with the “justice” provided to him, implying that there was a disparity in treatment.
Responding to MUDA President Mari Gowda’s allegation that Vishwanath had received a replacement plot in his wife’s name, Vishwanath showed documents stating that a canal had passed through the original plot, and he had been given a replacement plot.
Vishwanath also accused District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and Congress MLAs of diverting the investigation into the MUDA scam.
Addressing the allegations, Vishwanath acknowledged that he had approached Urban Development Minister Bairati Suresh for accommodation, but clarified that it was not for himself, but for a friend who was a real estate businessman.
The controversy highlights the ongoing political tensions and allegations of favoritism within the state’s political landscape.”
