Mysuru: Sri Krishna Mitra Mandali and Sri Krishna Trust, Saraswathipuram, will celebrate their 50th golden jubilee, titled Suvarna Sambhrama, with a series of religious and cultural programmes from May 18 to 20. Organisers have invited devotees and the public to participate in the three-day celebrations in large numbers.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Mandali vice-president Ravi Shastri said the event has been planned with spiritual discourses, devotional music programmes and cultural performances to mark the organisation’s milestone year.
The organisers said the celebrations would bring together religious leaders, public representatives and artistes for various programmes over the three days.
Grand inauguration on May 18
The golden jubilee celebrations will begin on Monday at 5.30 pm with an inaugural ceremony.
Mantralaya Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt seer Subudhendra Teertha Swami and Udupi Pejawar Mutt seer Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swami will grace the occasion.
Krishnaraja constituency MLA T.S. Srivatsa will participate as the chief guest for the inaugural session.
During the event, the Sri Krishnanugraha award will be presented to journalist Ravindra Joshi in recognition of his contributions.
The formal stage programme will be followed by Bhakti Sudhe, a devotional music concert by Puttur Sri Jagadish Acharya and team at 7 pm.
Spiritual discourse and musical programmes planned
On May 19 at 5 pm, Sri Uttaradi Mutt seer Satyatma Teertha Swami will deliver a spiritual discourse as part of the celebrations.
Later in the evening at 7 pm, singer and actress M.D. Pallavi and team will perform a light music concert titled Bhava Sudhe.
Organisers said the programme has been designed to combine spirituality and cultural entertainment for devotees and visitors.
Valedictory ceremony on final day
The concluding ceremony of the event will be held on May 20 at 5 pm.
Udupi Sri Puttige Mutt seer Sugunendra Teertha Swami will participate in the valedictory session, while Chamaraja MLA K. Harish Gowda will attend the programme.
As part of the celebrations, founder members and former presidents of Sri Krishna Mitra Mandali will be felicitated for their contributions towards the organisation.
The three-day event will conclude with a flute recital by Pandit Pravin Godkhindi and team.
Mandali president Gopalakrishna, vice-president Srivatsa, trust vice-president P.S. Shekhar, honorary secretary K.V. Sreedhar and Jayaram Bhat were also present during the press conference.
