Over 39,000 students appear for exams

A total of 39,349 students from 703 schools have registered for the SSLC examination in the district this year. The large number reflects the scale of the annual board examination, which is a crucial academic milestone for students across Karnataka.

The breakup of candidates is as follows:

  • 36,179 regular students
  • 2,458 repeaters
  • 728 private candidates
  • 133 private repeaters

Among different regions, Mysuru North recorded the highest number of registered candidates at 5,772, while Periyapatna reported the lowest at 2,961.

Strict monitoring and inspection

Officials ensured that all examination centres adhered to guidelines set by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board.

Deputy Director of Public Instruction Uday Kumar stated that the first day of the examination was conducted without any issues. He personally visited four to five centres to inspect arrangements and verify that protocols were being followed.

Authorities deployed CCTV surveillance at all centres, and additional measures such as webcasting were implemented to maintain transparency and prevent malpractice.

Control room set up for monitoring

To further strengthen monitoring, a control room has been established at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The facility enables real-time tracking of examination proceedings through webcasting, allowing officials to respond swiftly to any irregularities.

Education department officials said such measures are part of broader efforts to ensure a fair and smooth examination process for all candidates.

Mandya also reports smooth conduct

Similar arrangements were made in neighbouring Mandya district, where the SSLC examinations were also conducted without any untoward incidents.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar visited several examination centres to inspect facilities and ensure proper conduct. He stated that all necessary precautions had been taken to maintain transparency and eliminate any possibility of malpractice.

Next exam scheduled

Officials confirmed that the next SSLC examination paper is scheduled for March 23. Students have been advised to adhere strictly to guidelines and reach examination centres on time.

Conclusion

The smooth conduct of SSLC examinations on the first day in Mysuru and Mandya reflects effective planning and strict implementation of monitoring systems. With thousands of students appearing for the exams, authorities remain focused on maintaining fairness, transparency, and discipline throughout the examination period.
