Outsourced workers at the KSIC Corporation factory in T Narasipur, located within Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Varuna constituency, have raised serious concerns over the outcome of a recent high-level meeting regarding a stadium project.

The state-run silk factory, a three-decade-old establishment, is the only major source of livelihood for over 250 families in the region. Fears are mounting that the government may consider relocating the facility to make way for new development, despite the stadium being constructed elsewhere.

Workers from both the T Narasipur and Varuna assembly constituencies have come together in a heartfelt appeal to the Chief Minister, urging him to protect the factory and their livelihoods.

“This is the only factory we have. If it’s shut or shifted, hundreds of families will be left with nothing. We beg the Chief Minister—please save our jobs,” said one anxious worker.

The KSIC (Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation) facility plays a vital role in local employment and regional economic stability, especially for outsourced and daily wage workers, who now face uncertainty about their future.

With no alternative employment in the area, workers are calling for urgent government intervention to retain the factory and ensure their job security amid rising anxieties.
