Talakadu: The Talakadu Police seized 4 kg of ganja and arrested a 27-year-old man during a vehicle check near the T. Doddapura bus stand on the Talakadu–T. Narasipura main road on Friday morning.
The accused has been identified as Azar Wasim, a resident of Shiv Jyothi Nagar in Hunsur. Police said he was allegedly transporting the contraband on a Suzuki motorcycle that did not have a registration number plate.
Police intercept motorcycle
According to the police, the seizure was made during a special operation conducted by a team led by Inspector Shivananjashetty.
Acting on credible information, the police intercepted the motorcycle near the T. Doddapura bus stand and conducted a search. During the inspection, officers recovered 4 kg of ganja, which was allegedly being transported illegally.
The accused was taken into custody, and the contraband was seized as part of the operation.
Investigation launched
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation to determine the source of the seized ganja and identify others who may be involved in the alleged smuggling network.
Officials said efforts are under way to ascertain where the contraband was procured and its intended destination.
