Mysuru: A membership registration drive for the Bharat Jodo Yuva Sangha (BJYS) was held on Wednesday at the Government First Grade College in Siddhartha Layout, near Kurubarahalli Circle, under the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports’ ‘Yuva Shakti, Rashtra Shakti’ initiative.

Youngsters encouraged to take active role

Addressing the gathering, Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner M K Savitha urged youngsters to actively participate in initiatives that contribute to the development and well-being of society.

She encouraged youth to engage in activities related to cleanliness, environmental protection, health and wellness, culture and social harmony.

Focus on youth empowerment

The Commissioner also highlighted the importance of skill development and youth empowerment, encouraging young people to use their energy and abilities for constructive social initiatives.

The membership drive aims to encourage greater youth participation in community-oriented activities and provide youngsters with opportunities to contribute to social development.

The programme also underlined the importance of involving young people in initiatives that promote civic responsibility, environmental awareness, healthy living and social harmony.
