Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate the decennial year of NewsKarnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.
One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Arogya Manthana, a show on health which is aired every Monday.
The guest of the tenth episode aired on December 19 is Dr. Krishna Prasad, MBBS., MD., DM., Chief Medical Oncologist, Mangalore Institute of Oncology. The anchor person for the programme was Dr. Anuradha K. C. of Kakunje Ayurvedic Wellness Clinic, Moodabidri.

Dr. Krishna Prasad in the session shed light on Breast Cancer. Describing what is cancer he said prolonged hormone exposure is the main reason behind breast cancer. He also said that women are more prone to breast cancer than men. And women with multiple children and breastfeeding women are less prone to this cancer.
Suggesting for the self-examination, Dr. Krishna Prasad also shared information on who should do what examination, and at what age in order to be aware of their personal health.
Post-confirming cancer, learning the cancer stage, type and knowing patient health are the three initiatives undertaken by doctors added Dr. Krishna Prasad.
Stating different types of treatment Dr. Krishna Prasad said, “Cancer is not the only cause of death and one should not be scared of the disease.”
