‘Students are inspiration in teaching profession’

Dubai: The 45th episode of NewsKarnataka.com’s Namaste Teacher was held on Friday November 12 at 6.30 pm IST.

The guest teacher for the evening was Gayathree Kumary K. The special guests of the evening were her students, Sachitha, PT Teacher, Mangalore, Mary Priscilla D’Souza, Freelance Dietitian, and Lecturer Home Science, St. Aloysius College, K. Iresha Sewwandi, Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist, Lanka Hospital, Sri lanka, Hui Shang Hsue, Health and Lifestyle Coach, Goqii Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Akshitha, Teacher, Hazrath Sayyed Madani English Medium School, Ullal. The event host was Kiran Nirkan.

Through teacher-student interaction, the series strives to highlight teachers and their impact on students. The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s YouTube Channel.

Teacher Gayathree Kumary sharing her career journey reminisced her experience with students. She also recalled the day when she was still a fresher to the teaching field and got appreciation from Dr. D. Veerendra Hegde, Dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala.

Student K. Iresha Sewwandi expressed, “Ma’am is like a mother to us. Even today she continous to ask about our well being. The teaching style she has is excellent.”

Akshitha said, “Home Science was our favourite class. It was a huge house like room. Ma’am has been a soultion to all our both educational as well as personal problems.”

Hui Shang Hsue shared, “hailing from Kolkata and staying in a hostel, it was difficult to digest the food of south. When Gayathri ma’am learnt about this, she prepared food by her own hands for all the hostelities.”

Sachitha said, Gayathree ma’am taught us life and explained us what challenges in life will be. More than curriculum she has taught us to lead life.”

Mary Priscilla D’Souza shared, “She was a friendly lecturer. Post college, even today when I call ma’am she is available for us. She is a great guide who knows to handle work life and family life.”

Teacher Gayathree Kumary K was overwhelmed from the interaction with her students. Talking about the role of teacher in a student’s life she expressed, “Students are the inspiration in this profession. Each day looking at new phase is a new motivation,” she opined.

Both teacher and students appreciated the initiative of NewsKarnataka. Kiran Nirkan expressing gratitude signed off.
