Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate the decennial year of NewsKarnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.
One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Arogya Manthana, a show on health which is aired every Monday.
The guest of the twelfth episode which aired on January 16 is Prof Dr. P. Ramesh Bhat BAMS, MS, PhD, D. Pharma, Consultant Surgeon Acharya Sushrutha Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. The anchor person for the programme is Dr. Anuradha K. C. of Kakunje Ayurvedic Wellness Clinic, Moodabidri.

Prof Dr. P. Ramesh Bhat initiated with the discussion of surgery in Ayurveda based on Sushrutha’s book, Sushrutha Samhita. He said, “The means and modes might have changed in modern times but the surgery method which Sushrutha explains in his book is same as far as how it is practised even today.”
Speaking on the symptoms, causes and treatment for the piles disease Prof Dr. P. Ramesh Bhat said, “Piles is never a cancer, and the disease begins post years of age and rarely in young age. According to him it is not compulsory that a person with piles should undergo a severe pain.”
Doctor expressed, “Piles and Fissure in Ano are the most neglected diseases and so he emphasised on the treatment based with qualified professionals rather than opting self-medication.
Prof Dr. P. Ramesh Bhat expressed gratitude to NewsKarnataka on its initiative and advised the audience to maintain a better diet and take care of health.
