‘Trainer should always upgrade and upskill’

Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate decennial year of NewsKarnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.

One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Womenia, a show that promotes women of impact, entrepreneurs and achievers that is aired on every Thursday.

The guest of the twelfth episode aired on Thursday December 29 is Bharathi Shevgoor, Writer & Corporate Trainer. The anchor person for the programme is Ananya Hegde.

The programme was premiered on NewsKarnataka.com’s YouTube Channel.

Bharathi Shevgoor introduced herself and shared childhood memories of being born, brought up and have lived in the City of Mangalore. As student, “On my journey towards being the teachers pet and willing to have everything perfect might have taken away little part of fun which I may have had,” she expressed.

Sharing on her journey towards writing Bharathi Shevgoor said, “At my young age I had recognised my language skills. I was also brought up in a house where reading was very important, and not restricted to academics. And being multilingual is the feature of every Mangalorean, she said.

When asked about her opinion on present generation Bharathi Shevgoor opined “The generation is savvy in technology but at the same time the attention span of the younger generation is very less because of the various distractions they have.”

The guest also mentioned the qualities which a trainer should possess is ways of upskilling among others, while being in Toastmasters helped me in empowering my ability to edit my thoughts, she shared.

Speaking on balancing her career with family time Bharathi Shevgoor shared, “The answer lies in understanding how much your family have contributed in forming your career. If there was no cooperation and motivation it would have not been easy. My husband, my son and few of the family members understood my need to grow,” she expressed.

As an advise to the audience and ladies in specific Bharathi Shevgoor said, “Be more assertive, look out for what you want and be ambitious.”
