Mangaluru: Thank You Karnataka is a series of programmes organised to celebrate the decennial year of NewsKarnataka and thus thank Kannadigas all over the globe for supporting the Spearhead Media Group to achieve this milestone.
One of the programmes under Thank You Karnataka series is Arogya Manthana, a show on health which is aired every Monday.
The guest of the eighth episode aired on November 21 is Dr. B. Sadananda Naik, Senior Physician, Alva’s Health Care Centre, Moodabidri. The anchor person for the programme was Dr. Anuradha K. C. of Kakunje Ayurvedic Wellness Clinic, Moodabidri.

Dr. B. Sadananda Naik said, The relationship between a doctor and a patient is a holy one. “It is a relation where a patient with utmost trust shares all the personal, physical as well as emotional waves of life.”
Dr. B. Sadananda Naik also shared about doctor centred as well as patient-centred treatments. He said, every profession will have individuals with good as well as bad qualities. But because of a few bad people, the whole field will be blamed corrupt and so is the medical field which leads to mistrust of doctors, he noted.
The doctor also discussed the role of government and society to create pressure in the medical field, the corruption by doctors in the field and the ways to avoid and overcome it.
Dr. B. Sadananda Naik stressed, Doctors should learn as many languages as possible as it will enhance their connection with the patients. He also suggested to patients the ways through which they should approach the doctors so that the doctors gain interest in dealing with the case.
Speaking on the harassment against the doctors he opined, “It is the lowest phase in a doctor-patient relationship. And also an inhuman offense which is condemnable.”
As an advise to the audience he stated, “Trust in the doctor is the best human discovered treatment. Do not hold any inferiority on Indian doctors because in India within 24 hours even specialists are accessible to us, unlike foreign countries.”
