Jeddah: The Founder and President of All India Muslim Development Forum (AIMDF), Shakeel Hassan H and the National Spokesperson of AIMDF, Shaikh Muzaffer helped rescue Mahammad Shohil who went missing after getting laid off from his job.

Mahammad Shohil from Udupi district went to Makkah on December 19, 2019, in search of a good job but due to COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown, he was laid off by his employer To find a new job he left for Jeddah from his residence on June 25. When he was unable to find any job suiting his requirement, he called his cousin at 10:55 AM stating that he might return late. However, Mahammad Shohil was not reachable even late at night and went missing after that.

Shohil's family tried to reach him through all means possible but did not even get a clue about his whereabouts. The family approached the National Spokesperson of AIMDF, Shaikh Muzaffer and requested him to find their missing son. Shaikh Muzaffer took the issue to a higher committee in AIMDF and asked them to collect relevant documents concerning the missing individual.

After collecting the documents, raised the issue with MOFa (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Consul General of India, and sought their intervention on this subject.

Shaikh Muzaffer initiated the project ‘Mission Rahat’ and managed to trace Shohilon October 17 with the collaborative efforts of the Saudi authorities and Indian officials. Before any attempts to rescue him could be undertaken, Suhail got arrested in November for the crime of Al Hurub (absconding case). Suhail was sent to Sumeshi Jail and was kept there for 45 days.

The National Spokesperson of AIMDF raised this issue with the Consul of Community Welfare and sought for their help in this matter. Finally, on December 24, AIMDF successfully aided in the repatriation of 128 deportees from Sumeshi Jail along with Mahammad Shohil and reunited with his family in Udupi.
