Abu Dhabi: Visit visa-holders in the UAE, whose visa had expired after March 1, have been given one month’s time to either leave the country or change their visa status if they want to avoid fines. The announcement was made by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) on Monday.
Spokesperson for the ICA, Brig Khamis Al Kaabi informed that the one-month period started on July 12.
These developments come after all previous resolutions related to the residency of expatriates and validity of visas, entry permits, and ID cards were cancelled by a recent UAE Cabinet decision.
Residents and citizens within the country have been given a 90-day period to renew their documents, Brig Al Kaabi informed.
A one month period has been given to those outside the country for renewal and the grace period will start upon their arrival in the country.
