Dubai, Mar 18: Ashwini Angadi, who overcame her physical disabilities, was felicitated on behalf of all Kannada and Karnataka based organisations at Spice & Flavours restaurant in Dubai, yesterday.
Ashwini expressed gratitude and appreciation to everyone regarding her felicitation. She said this felicitation would be an additional factor to boost her confidence to achieve more in her life.
Moreover, she has travelled to north India alone without any escort and mentions that travelling abroad is much friendlier as compared to India because of their cordial arrangements for differently-abled people.
“This should not have been called Malala Day, but Ashwini Day. You are an inspiration to the whole world,” mentions Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani school girl.
Sarvotham Shetty and other office bearers of Kannada and Karnataka based organisations delighted the occasion.
The programme was co-ordinated and organised under the leadership of Deepak Somashekara, Shodhan Prasad, Sadan Das and Umadevi Hiremath. Kannada activist Mallikarjuna Gowda compered the programme.
Angadi is also a winner of Youth Courage Award for Education of United Nation’s Special Envoy for Global Education’s Gordon Brown Youth Achiever’s Award.
