Manama/Bahrain:Kannada Sangh will be staging mythological-based Yakshagana episodes – Varaha (Hiranyaksha Vadhe), Narasimha (Prahlada Charita) and Bhargava (Bhargav Shapata) with their member artistes and guest artistes, at Kerala Samajam auditorium, here on Friday October 11 at 5.00pm.
The Yakshagana will have several specialities and entry-free. Kannada Sangh president Rajkumar and governing council urged the expats to attend the programme in large numbers in their media release.
The amateur Yakshagana artiste Kalavar Srinivas Bhat has been promoting Yakshagana for the past 3 decades by his own troupe through Kannada Sangh in the oil rich nation. The women members and their children also trained in Yakshagana in enriching the heroic art of undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
The amateur Yakshagana artists are undergoing training with Kateel Yakshagana troupes versatile artist Ganesh Chandramandala, to stage Yaksha Vaibav – 2013 as part Bharat Utsav that was organized by Kerala Samajam of Bahrain.
A special stage will be set conceived by young Yakshagana artist Karunakar Padmashali that will be focal point of attraction.
The native Yakshagana artists young Satyanarayan Puninchittaya, veteran artist Srinivas Rao Madangallu, Ganesh Chandramandala, instrumentalist Dayanand Shettigar Mijar, and Dubais renowned amateur artist Shekar D Shettigar will add flavour to the Yakshagana show.
