Dubai: The metropolitan authorities advised the citizens including expatriates not to believe the rumors of imminent earthquake in UAE that has been posted in social media, since tremors of less magnitude were witnessed across UAE recently.
The authorities urged to trust the official information, informed an officer while speaking during earthquake awareness campaign organized by earthquake monitoring cell located at Deira, here in municipal building.
The earthquake occurred on the border region of Iran and Pakistan in the last week. It aftershock tremors were felt in UAE too. Several buildings were vacated. Meanwhile, the message is spreading in twitter that an earthquake is imminent to hit UAE as it lie on fracture zone. Its totally untrue, clarified earthquake expert Dr Kamal Atia at the monitoring cell.
