Bahrain: Guru Seva Samiti,a significant association of Billawa community of Tulu Kannadigas in State of Bahrain celebrated their decennial anniversary with grandeur here recently.
The Samiti believes in the ideologies of Narayana Guru who propagated universal brotherhood regardless of caste, creed and religion and Tulunadu heroic icons Koti – Chennaya, Kantabare celebrated their decennial anniversary year in an unique manner.
The veterans of community placed the portrait of Narayan Guru in palaki and placed at the dais with reverence accompanied by traditional music and worshiping women.
Tulu writer Janaki Brahmavar who arrived from hometown Udupi was the chief guest inaugurated the programme.
Tulu Sahitya Academy former president Umanat Kotian was the guest of honor.
The Samiti president Raghu Poojary in his presidential address briefed the path treaded by the Samiti in the past 10 years.
Arya Rajkumar presented a welcome dance.Variety cultural shows were staged as part of entertainment programme directed by Chandrakala Mohan. Besides Tulu laughter show – Rambarooti, was staged by comedy king Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Sasiraj Kavoor, Maim Ramdas and Vismay Vinayak on the same occasion.
