Indian Star Champions in Cricket Tourney - 1 min read


Manama/Bahrain:Indian Star cricket team bagged the trophy in the limited over cricket tournament organized by Indian Club.

Indian Star team bagged the trophy by defeating Bearys Mangalore Boys team in the finals of six-over cricket tournament.A total of 14 teams competed in the tourney.

Indian Star opened the batting with Amit Shetty who secured 27 runs out of 52 runs for 4 wickets in 6 over.Mangalore Boys secured 30 runs in 6 over for 5 wickets, with a shortfall of 13 runs.Indian Star bowler Sarfaraj secured 2 wickets.

Indian Star reached the finals by defeating Chennai Super Kings in semifinal for 2 wickets with all round show of Punit Putran who hit a six in the last ball and also secured 3 wickets for just 2runs.

Mangalore Boys defeated host Indian Club in the second semifinal for 13 runs.  Sameer and captain Ashraf secured 24 and 18 runs respectively for Mangalore Boys.

Indian Star opener Amit Shetty declared man of the match in final, Indian Star cricketer Punit Putran and Mangalore Boys cricketer Ashraf declared man of the match in the semifinal.

Indian Club president Mangalorean Anand Lobo presented the trophy during the valedictory function.
